MARRAKECH

Below you’ll find flight guidance from Sweden and the US — popular departure cities, approximate fares, typical layovers, and airlines to watch. Flights from Gothenburg (Landvetter) to Marrakech Menara (RAK) are available with Lufthansa, Discover Airlines, and KLM connecting through Munich, Frankfurt, or Amsterdam.

Price range: approximately 2,600 – 5,000 SEK round-trip
Flight time: around 7–8 hours total, including layover
Layovers: one stop (Munich, Frankfurt, or Amsterdam)

Traveling from Gothenburg

Traveling from Stockholm

Direct flights from Stockholm (Arlanda) to Marrakech Menara (RAK) are available with Ryanair.

Price range: approximately 2,200 – 2,800 SEK round-trip
Flight time: around 5 hours 15 minutes
Layovers: none (direct)

Traveling from the U.S.

Guests traveling from the U.S. will fly into Marrakech Menara Airport (RAK), typically with one connection in Europe. There are currently no direct flights, but routes through Paris, Lisbon, Madrid, London, or Frankfurt are frequent and convenient. Remember, flights to Europe/Africa are overnight, so you will not arrive the same day you start flying.

Travel time: 12 – 18 hours total, depending on departure city and layover length
Layovers: usually one (occasionally two)
Recommended travel dates:
– Weekend trip: Depart October 1 – 2 / Return October 5 – 6

Booking Tips

Search smart: Use Google Flights or Skyscanner to compare one-stop routes to Marrakesh (RAK).
Alternative option: Check fares to Casablanca (CMN) — only 2.5 hours by train to Marrakesh and sometimes cheaper.
Best hubs: Paris (CDG), Lisbon (LIS), Madrid (MAD), London (LHR), Frankfurt (FRA).
When to book: 3 – 5 months in advance for the best October fares (under $700).
