ABOUT MARRAKESH
Overview
Marrakesh — the Red City — is where ancient charm meets vibrant energy. Set against the backdrop of the Atlas Mountains, it’s a city full of life, color, and rhythm. From peaceful Riads and fragrant gardens to bustling souks (markets) and rooftop dinners under the stars, Marrakesh offers a mix of adventure and tranquility that we can’t wait for you to experience.
Is Marrakesh Safe?
Yes. Marrakesh is one of Morocco’s most visited cities and is considered safe for travelers. Like in any busy destination, we recommend staying aware of your surroundings, avoiding isolated areas at night, and keeping valuables close in crowded souks. People are friendly, helpful, and used to welcoming visitors from all over the world.
Dress in Marrakesh
Morocco is a modern yet traditional country. You’ll see everything from kaftans to linen suits — especially in hotels and restaurants.
For city walks and souks, light, breathable fabrics that cover shoulders, chest, and knees are appreciated.
For the wedding celebrations: think bohemian, elegant, and effortless — comfortable enough to dance under the desert sky. (A conservative dress code is not required at the venue).
Evenings can be cooler, so bring a light layer or shawl.

CULTURAL TIPS
Greetings go a long way. Saying “Salam Alaikum” (peace be upon you) is always appreciated and will draw smiles from locals.
Dress with respect. In traditional or religious areas, cover your shoulders, chest, and knees.
Bargaining is part of the fun. It’s expected in markets — smile and enjoy the process.
Tipping is customary. In cafés and restaurants, 5-10% is standard for good service.
Photographs. Always ask before taking photos of people, especially in the souks.
Final Note
We chose Morocco for its warmth and spirit, and we’re excited for you to see why. Take a walk through the Medina, enjoy the food, and soak it all in.
See you soon in Marrakesh.
